The Facilities Technician's role encompasses ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of equipment and facilities, along with offering comprehensive support for the overall upkeep and daily operations within the Lewisville, Texas facilities.

Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Performs monthly inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment as required.
  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
  • Coordinates with outside vendors for repairs & installations as necessary.
  • Cleans air diffusers and vents.

 

Company Vehicle Use and Maintenance:

  • Arrange for company vehicle repairs as needed.
  • Ensure the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use.

 

Facility Maintenance and Upkeep:

  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment and assists the Environmental Health & Safety department with machine inspections.
  • Performs Lockout/Tagout duties as required.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, plastering, plumbing, HVAC, custodial functions, and minor electrical repairs to ensure that the building is properly maintained and is in good physical condition.
  • Cleans and repairs building fixtures including lights, locks, windows, doors, walls, floors, drains, etc.

 

General Facility Upkeep:

  • Assists with tasks on a routine basis – daily, weekly, or monthly as scheduled – for general upkeep of the Lewisville facility. These tasks include restroom maintenance, hallway and lobby cleaning, lunchroom and kitchenette upkeep, trash removal, and other general maintenance tasks.
  • Maintains/replenishes kitchen and coffee supplies and replenishes stock using a company truck as necessary.
  • Cleans refrigerators on a routine basis.
  • Empties cigarette receptacles and removes trash.
  • Disposes of any trash in the flower beds and parking lots.
  • Refills bathrooms with supplies when needed.
  • Assists HR with set-up and tear-down during quarterly Town Hall meetings.
  • Moves and assembles office furniture.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of recent hands-on experience in general facilities maintenance for medium to large-sized plants or office buildings
  • Knowledge and comprehension of power systems with voltages ranging from 480 volts and below.
  • Mechanical background to include general building maintenance as well as ability to diagnose and repair Production machinery and various power tools (including compressors, bench and hand tools of electric and pneumatic variety, plumbing, etc.)
  • Electrical background to include the ability to diagnose and repair or replace lights, light fixtures, office equipment, refrigerator, ice machine, etc.
  • General knowledge of carpentry and repair of doors, door locks and closures, etc.
  • Welding experience is highly desirable but not required
  • Ability to operate hand tools & air powered tools
  • Ability to operate hoist
  • Ability to operate forklift
  • Experience working with spreadsheets is highly desired

 

Licenses, Certifications and Registrations:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record that is acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier for driving on company business or in a company/rental vehicle
