The Senior Product Manager oversees strategic direction of the company’s Concrete Equipment Business. This high visibility role requires strong partnership with engineering, sales, marketing, business development, and other cross-functional teams. The Senior Product Manager plans, organizes, and controls assigned products from conceptual stages through its entire life cycle to optimize profit and meet marketing, sales, financial, and corporate growth objectives. Provides strategic, specific, and targeted recommendations for growth as the recognized expert in the competitive environment. Understands existing internal capabilities, while developing a long-term vision and exploring potential new opportunities.

Responsibilities

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains high level of understanding of the product, marketplace, competitive landscape and evolving customer preferences, within the Concrete Finishing Segment.
  • Develops and maintains strategies and proactively manages product lifecycle.
  • Manages product category strategy and P&L to achieve established revenue, margin and profit goals.
  • Develops and implements product roadmap supported through voice of customer and market research.
  • Monitors market position of products through regular competitive review.
  • Works with Engineering, Operations and Strategic Sourcing to identify and execute value engineering initiatives and consider make vs. buy recommendations, to maintain market competitiveness.
  • Helps identify new product opportunities and conducts product line analysis to support resource allocation.
  • Understands customer needs and ensures that products deliver economic value while achieving cost and profitability targets.
  • Supports internal teams in establishing pricing strategy of assigned products, ensuring that financial targets including sales volume and margins are monitored and achieved.
  • Assists the marketing department in the development of promotions and other initiatives designed to increase customer engagement and sales of assigned products.
  • Assists marketing department with updating and maintaining company web site, training material, sales literature and development of digital content.
  • Assists the technical publications department as necessary in creating and verifying content for operations manuals, instructions sheets and service bulletins.
  • Provides product and application training for internal and external customers on an ongoing basis in conjunction with other product mangers.
  • Assists salespeople in the promotion, education and sales of assigned products to channel partners and end users.
  • Act as supplier liaison to develop, test, analyze, promote and establish market penetration of assigned products throughout the Company’s sales and marketing organizations
  • Works with suppliers to ensure acceptable quality, conformance and support to include communicating product issues and product improvement requests through established formats.
  • Coordinates with suppliers to ensure current and accurate product documentation and service/parts manuals are published and provided in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Communicates product updates and improvements to management, applicable company employees, channel partners and customers.
  • Monitor warranty activity for assigned products and ensure all technical and/or compliance issues are resolved.
  • Must have the ability to travel domestically and internationally as necessary for industry events, supplier visits and customer meetings.
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned.

Qualifications

 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

 

Bachelor’s degree (B.A/B.S.) or equivalent from a four-year college/university in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or the Arts, and 5+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in Product Management. Experience in the manufacturing of Concrete finishing or construction equipment or Rental Construction/Power equipment required. Knowledge of product management / strategic planning concepts, practices and techniques.

The position requires an ability to understand, balance and direct multiple product lines with differing market demands.

 

Computer Skills:

 

Working knowledge of MS Office is required.

Experience with SAP is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base pay range of $120,000-$130,000/year
