  • Overview

    Position responsibilities are as follows: Servicing and repairing of customers’ equipment (field and in shop), Startups testing of Power Generator Equipment in the field, traveling to job sites and quoting of repairs.


    • Load bank testing of new and used generator sets
    • Assist with answering customer’s inquiries and troubleshooting questions
    • Maintain accurate information to enable prompt answers to the customer
    • Troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with controls and mechanical systems
    • Repair of customer and MQ owned power generation equipment
    • Guiding less experienced technicians in the repair of equipment as required
    • Contribute and communicate solutions with others
    • Flexibility in order to be dispatched to different client locations for service
    • Assist in creation of technical information documents
    • Ability to work overtime as requested
    • Overnight travel as required
    • Maintain company vehicle
    • Must have own tools
    • Perform other duties that may be assigned


    • Ability to travel up to 80% of time
    • One year Electrical Certification from a junior college or trade school; 3 Years Generator/Electrical troubleshooting experience required.   
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.               
    • Individual must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in different units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals as well as understand complex mathematical or logical functions.  The ability to compute rate, ratios and percentages along with the ability to draw, create and interpret graphs is of significant importance.              
    • This person must possess the ability to apply common sense understanding to a wide array of facts and assimilated information to develop and carry out projects and make recommendations that are cost-effective, efficient to lead the company toward accomplishing short and long-term goals.

    Must hold a valid driver’s license and Passport


    Travel Requirements

    Travel is a major requirement of this position. In addition to scheduling regular customer visits, you must have the flexibility to meet demands for unscheduled travel within the territory.

    Ability to travel by vehicle or air up to 80% of the time within North America is required.

    Office days may be scheduled, but regular travel throughout the territory is required.
