General Summary:

Leads all warehousing work activities on shift designated area; ensures effective use of employees, equipment, and facilities and adjust to changes in workload by helping physically with operating requirements by performing the following duties


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Plans daily receiving and shipping schedules to meet inbound and outbound shipment volumes and working side by side with Warehouse Associates to complete all daily tasks.

Organizes receiving/shipping activities, and verifies materials received/shipped and receiving/shipping documents are accurate. Ensures outgoing shipping/receiving activities for accuracy, completeness, condition of shipments and accuracy of documents

Operates forklift, stand-up fork lift truck, order/cherry picker, pallet jacks and/or hand truck, conveyor system to move product and other tools for shipping

Ensures product moves efficiently from receiving to put away/storage and shipping on a timely manner and orders due for delivery that are available within the cut off time are completely pick and ready to ship prior to carrier pick up arrival.

Maintains stock location accuracy and stock organization via efficient receipt/put-away process and reconcile Cycle Counts variances

Assist in performing Distribution Coordinator functions during heavy workload or when the Coordinator is off.

Assists/fills in for Distribution Associate in receiving/shipping, cycle counts and physical inventory.

Ensures security/proper care and charging of scanning and mobile devices.  

Inspects material handling equipment daily for defects and notifies management personnel of needs for repair


Ensures order accuracy and timely posting of inventory and all paperwork is handled according to procedures and within company (JSox and internal) compliance.


Operates computer terminal to research, input and retrieve receiving, shipping and inventory data and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).

Conducts daily effective safety and housekeeping walkthroughs; to ensures conditions detrimental to health and safety or injurious to equipment and facilities are corrected

Performs other duties that may be assigned



Supervisory Responsibilities                                                   

Directly supervises workloads and leads employees in the Shipping & Receiving Department. Carries out floor Lead responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting in interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing workflow; assists Distribution Supervisor in appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems as needed.



Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3 or more years of related experience       


1 -3 years of SAP and WMS experience is highly desirable             


Ability to operate forklift, stand-up forklift, order/cherry picker, pallet jacks and hand trucks. Forklift certification is required.


Familiar with the use of hand tools, vertical saw, pneumatic nail gun & wrenches.


Must have knowledge of WMS Distribution system; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software (MS Office).


Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  


Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
