The Logistics Specialist is responsible for truckload shipments of Construction Equipment and coordinating the activities to different warehouses/distribution/manufacturing plants. This position also acts as liaison between Sales (Inside and field) and Production to fulfill and prioritize truckload orders for customer and consignment request.


  • Review Stock Requirements List of Construction Equipment truckload orders/request to optimize transportation into full truckload(s) or with the most economical cost to ship the Equipment.
  • Set up and coordinate truckload pickup and delivery schedule with Multiquip warehouses and 3PL Carrier Providers to ensure materials are ready for pickup and to ensure storage availability at the receiving warehouse/plant.
  • Monitor Inventory Stock Levels (Based on a weekly consumption replenishment program) at different warehouses and determine from the supplying and receiving plant the materials, availability, and the quantity required to replenished the receiving plant before it run out of stock.
  • Identify the appropriate carrier equipment type (flatbed, vans, container), obtain quote to maximize savings on customer truckload shipments and Book/manifest shipment with the appropriate carriers to ensure timely pick-up and delivery and to avoid accessorial charges.
  • Coordinate the Logistics activities for Equipment Trade Shows with Marketing, Product Managers, Sales, Warehouses/Plants, and Carriers to secure and prepare the materials for transport and to ensure availability of the equipment at the show and the return of the equipment to Multiquip after the show.
  • Create transfer Orders and process deliveries (Customers and transfers) for truckload transfer orders, create and post inventory (issues and receipt), review transfer order reports and inventory transactions for accuracy and conformance with established Multiquip JSox policies procedures and guidelines.
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned.

  • Additional duties include:
    • Assist the Director of Logistics in fulfilling/sourcing orders (specially backorders) from the nearest warehouse with stock and in routing inbound truckload/containerize shipment to the correct warehouse/plant (Inventory positioning).
    • The Logistics Specialist will be cross-trained in consignment duties and will be expected to be able to cover consignment duties when requested.



Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in supply chain, logistics or materials management handling large products utilizing Truckload transport/logistic vendors to ship materials and/or product and experience in negotiating carrier rates (TL, LTL, FCL, and LCL)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics is a plus
  • The successful candidate must establish strong relationships with a variety of internal customers throughout the process, have a strong foundation in customer-specific logistics practices.
  • Working knowledge of Transportation Management Systems and Warehouse Management Systems
  • Knowledge of SAP system functionality in Materials Management, Sales and Distribution, and Logistics Execution or Equivalent ERP system
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
