Position responsibilities are as follows: Servicing, trouble shooting, testing and repairing of customers' power generators.  


  • Diagnose causes of electrical problems or failures for the purpose of identifying equipment repairs
  • Reads work orders, wiring diagrams, and specifications to determine established assembly methods
  • Route wires, assemble, and install electrical and electronic components onto generator assembly, such as reconnection board, terminal blocks, controls, buss panels, engine DC, generator AC, junction terminal boxes, and main control switch panels.
  • Cut wire and or cable to specified lengths and terminate to components
  • Route, comb, twist, tie wrap, and attaches wire to terminal points, according to layout, using soldering gun and hand tools.
  • Connect wiring to accessories, such as relays, circuit breakers, plugs, switches, solenoids, circuit breakers, buss panels, reconnection boards
  • Crimps terminal eyelets and lugs to wire ends, using hand or machine crimping device
  • Conducts functional and continuity tests of electrical assemblies, components, wire harness, and plugs, using ohmmeter, test lights, and other electrical testing instruments.
  • Manufacture or alter wiring harness to fit equipment
  • Loads bank testing of generator sets
  • Request equipment and or supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of the items required to complete necessary jobs
  • Participates in meetings, trainings, and seminars as assigned for the purpose of conveying or gathering information required to perform job functions
  • Coordinates with others for the purpose of completing projects as work efficiently
  • Performs other duties that may be assisned



One year Electrical Certification from a technical school; or 2+ Years Generator/Electrical troubleshooting experience required.


Ability to travel local to job sites for repairs


Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.


Individual must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in different units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals as well as understand complex mathematical or logical functions. Along with the ability to draw, create and interpret graphs is of significant importance.


Licenses, Certifications and Registrations:

Valid California driver’s license and good driving record.
